Neil Luck is een componist, performer en regisseur gevestigd in Londen. Hij is in de eerste plaats geïnteresseerd in de pathos en interactie tussen live performance en multimedia. Zijn werk strekt zich uit van muziektheater tot radio, installaties, publieke projecten en studio-opnames.

Neil is ook de oprichter en directeur van het muziektheaterensemble ARCO en is medeoprichter van de kunstenaarscoöperatie Squib-box. Hij componeert ook voor solisten en ensembles.

Hij bracht deze zomer het fantastische album ‘Downturn Fantasies‘ uit op het Antwerpse Entr’acte-label. Hij was bovendien zo gul om een mixtape te maken voor Sterrenplaten deze vrijdag. Over die mix zegt Neil het volgende:

“This is a mixtape all about communication, or rather the complex struggles of communication and meaning. Music and other recordings borne from misunderstandings, vocal tics, technical glitches, vast distances, occult intonations, intimate dialogues, polyglotism, and dream imagery. This is slippery music, full of symbols, cyphers and cryptics from the latest electronic to medieval polyphony.”
