Sterrenplaten: Vrijkaarten te winnen voor Sheherazaad / Ava Rasti!

Sheherazaad is een Amerikaanse componiste en protégée van Arooj Aftab. Ze is oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit de Bay Area en opgegroeid als tweede generatie in een migrantenfamilie, hierdoor put Sheherazaad uit zowel westerse klassieke als Indische tradities. Ze imponeerde met haar EP ‘Qasr‘ (2024) op Erased Tapes en komt weldra met nieuw werk. (Foto © Zayira Ray)

Ava Rasti is een Iraanse componiste en pianiste die nog steeds hoofdzakelijk vanuit Teheran werkt. Haar jongste album ‘The River‘, verscheen eind 2024 via 130701/FatCat en mag zich meten met het werk van Hildur Guðnadóttir, Jóhann Jóhannsson of A Winged Victory for the Sullen.

Je kan deze mooie double bill meemaken op woensdag 28 januari in de Leuvense Predikherenkerk dankzij 30CC. Op zaterdag 27 december blikt Radio Scorpio naar jaarlijkse gewoonte nog één keer terug op de muzikale hoogtepunten van het voorbije jaar, dit traditioneel met een stevige eindejaarslijst van 106 albums, naar analogie met de frequentie van de radiozender.
