Sterrenplaten: Interview met Lia Kohl!

Sterrenplaten had een fantastisch gesprek met Lia Irene Kohl. Lia Kohl is een cellist, componist en geluidskunstenaar uit Chicago. Haar werk draait om nieuwsgierigheid en geduld, de verkenning van de alledaagse en meer complexe mogelijkheden van geluid. Scorpio-luisteraars kennen haar vooral van Normal Sounds (Moon Glyph, 2024) en The Ceiling Reposes (American Dreams, 2023) die beiden hoog eindigden in ‘De Beste 106’ van de respectievelijke jaren. Lia werkte ook al samen met onder meer Macie Stewart, Circuit Des Yeux en Claire Rousay. Ze is best wel alomtegenwoordig eigenlijk. In AB kwamen ze haar project met Whitney Johnson ‘For Translucence’ (Drag City) voorstellen.

Met Lia hebben we het in een lang gesprek over ‘For Translucence’; Bach, haar substack, fluiten, field recordings en over veel meer. Mis het heerlijke stuk niet en luister deze vrijdag om 21 uur op Radio Scorpio via 106fm (Leuven) of online (wereldwijd)!
